Well, it’s official, we have finished mixing our new record Signs; we are commencing mastering, and we EVEN have a release date (Saturday, March 26)! We’re going to have a grand ol’ release party at the Rose Barn at the O’Neill Theater in Waterford, and we hope you’ll be there to celebrate with us. Opening the show will be our good friends Black Marmot from Boston, MA. More information and the latest updates here.
But BEFORE that, we’ve got a bunch of other exciting recording news… this weekend, we’re releasing a new single as part of the Hygienic Weekend Long One Hundred compilation coming out of New London, CT. The song is ‘Big C’ (a different version than what will appear on ‘Signs’… listen here) and in the spirit of the Hygienic vibe, comes complete with a spoken verse (read: rap!) from MC Gabe Chandler of the hip-hop/jazz unit Above/Below. And the B-side? None other than Radiotricity’s (remember them?!) “Aunt Sally”… Check it out here.
Lastly, GIGS… some other upcoming shows… the Rivergods will throw down a short acoustic set at the Hygienic Hootenanny this Friday, Jan. 28 at 8 p.m. at Muddy Waters. On Friday, Feb. 4, Ben will appear in a very special tribute concert called ‘Everybody’s Digging Dylan at the Katherine Hepburn Theatre in Old Saybrook, CT. On Friday, Feb. 18, Nancy will play solo at the Vanilla Bean Cafe in Pomfret, CT, part of their monthly Songwriting Sessions series. And Friday, Mar. 4, the Rivergods will plug in at the Bank Street Cafe with very special guests Fiesta Brava from Northampton, MA. More info here.
That’s all for now… hope you’re staying warm out there in winter wonderland.
